From 3pm on January 26th to 3pm on January 27th, we were given 24 hours to come up with an animation based on the selected theme of 'spin or twist.' I had an idea for another cartoon I wanted to do involving the earth, but I didn't think it meshed too well with the theme. Had it been 'revolve or orbit' I would have been set. But instead, I came up with this game-show idea. Someone said recently that I watch alot of Game Show network. Admitingly, it does take up a large chunk of my TV watching pie chart. However it just so happened that the day before I was starting to feel sick, and rather then put any strain on my already aching body, I just sat on the couch and ended up watching a solid 6 or 7 hours of Game Shows. Everything from Press Your Luck to Lingo. So of course when I heard the word 'spin' the first thing I thought of was someone spinning the huge Price is Right wheel. Wouldn't you?
Anywho, this is the entry I came up with within the 24 hour period. I can't say I spent the whole 24 hour's slaving away at this piece... Infact, I had enough spare time to see a concert, attend a photo shoot, and even get a full nights rest before recording the sound effects in the morning. Yeah, the character designs are minimal and the layouts are sparce, but at least it gets the point across. And hey, it ended up winning. So that's gotta say something, right?
